There are many interesting, inspiring, funny and informative working mothers to follow online. In the midst of harried life, its great to have a few awesome women bookmarked for some escapeism or a humour break while you’re stuck in that doctor’s waiting room.

With 2.8 million followers, @thepioneerwoman, Ree Drummond, who self-describes has a desparate housewife who lives in the country, has built an empire with a lifestyle brand at Walmart, a popular Food Network show, numerous published cookbooks and children’s books, a monthly magazine and numerous businesses in her hometown of Pawhuska, Oklahoma including a general store, a boutique hotel and several restaurants.

What sets her apart is the escapism of the beautiful photographs of the working cattle ranch and her relatable, self depracating humour as she regales us with anecdotes of her life on the ranch with her husband, the “Marlborough Man”, home schooling her children, recipies honed from cooking for cowboys and her adorable dogs.

Brene Brown

With 1.7 million followers, “researcher, storyteller and Texan” @brenebrown is a social worker, researcher, PhD and general explorer of humanity, with a focus on topics of courage, vulnerability and shame. Her TED talk is one of the top TED talks of all time, with 25 million views.

Gretchen Rubin

A certfiable over-achiever, @gretchenrubin, a former lawyer who once clerked for Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor, has written several best selling books on happiness and organization, hosts a popular podcast and publishes an informative weekly newsletter featuring wonderful wisdom and insight from a range of other authors.  If you can get past the eye-roll of a perfectionist, triple type A whose life seems perfect, telling you how to make your life better, she has genuinely helpful, concrete actionable tips and a love of reading which will inspire you to keep up the habit.
